BOTOX® Cosmetic is the most requested anti-aging procedure in the Nashville, Franklin, Cool Springs, Brentwood areas. It is a purified protein toxin produced by the clostridium botulinum bacteria. Although BOTOX® Cosmetic is a toxin, there have been no serious side effects reported. This is because it is used in extremely small amounts and does not spread throughout the body.
A few drops of BOTOX® Cosmetic are injected with a tiny needle into the muscle that creates a wrinkle. BOTOX® Cosmetic blocks the nerve impulse from reaching that area, causing the muscle to relax. As a result, the wrinkles in the overlying skin gradually soften, and sometimes even disappear, which leads to a more youthful, rested appearance. Do the injections hurt?
